Our Experience
Mitchell Appraisal Company has 12 years of experience appraising residential real estate in the great state of Maine. Appraising real estate in Maine is an exciting and unique career. Maine has diverse real estate market that consists of cities, towns and rural areas. There are waterfront properties, recreational properties on or near ski and golf resorts, old farmhouse and new subdivisions as well as vacant land. Our experience has made it possible to accurately describe the property being appraised, the neighborhood and the market.
We concentrate our coverage area mostly to Central Maine, but have experience and resources that have taken us from the New Hampshire border to the Canadian border. We perform appraisals for a wide spectrum of clients and a variety of uses which include financing, FHA, construction, PMI removal, employee relocation, foreclosures, estates settlements and divorces. We have experience in the court room and have been qualified as an expert witness in the field of Residential Real Estate Appraising in the Somerset County District Court.
Our CommitmentWe are dedicated to providing accurate appraisals in a timely manner. Appraising in Maine can have many challenges. Some towns have offices which are only open one day a week. Other communities are unorganized territories and only have limited information that can be obtained from the state. There are many small real estate offices which do not utilize multiple listing services. We have been able to establish relationships with these independent realtors, small town offices and state government offices in order to obtain as much information as possible in order to produce a credible appraisal.
More than just an Appraisal CompanyAt Mitchell Appraisal Company we strive to be green (environmentally friendly). We prefer to email as much as possible in order to reduce paper and ink waste. We recycle and try to combine assignments in order to use fewer natural resources and reduce our carbon footprint. We support the local economy but buying through local channels and have trained others in the field of residential real estate appraising.
